Environmental Context and Structural Implementation

These images are intended to begin to illustrate the performative qualities that our roof scape possesses. Addressed are issues concerning air, wind, structure, and drainage. In our scheme the roof scape deals with/utilizes each of these issues in a unique way.
Our structural system is unique in its construction. Performative qualites have pushed the vertical structure away from normal points and deployed it in the points at which the structure is the leanest. This not only allows for some interesting column patterns, but also allows for the use of water drained away from the roof.

An illustration detailing the collection method and water salvage system.

This is a section through our roof scape.

This illustration shows how air passing over the surface begins to draw air from the interior out through the flat cells.

We are interested in the idea of filtering light. We have devised a sort of ‘aperture’ that would limit the amount of light that could infiltrate the space. This would make for a more efficient and desirable dwelling.
