Roofscape exploration and articulation
The following images begin to break down and explore the roof scape’s qualities and characteristics. The above image is an exploded axonometric section that breaks down the components that make up the structural logic of the roof.
In an attempt to add environmental characteristics to the roof system, we charged the geometry with an elevational change. This allowed for a chimney effect in the peak which would be fed by the skylights in the valley portion.
Likewise, this opened up the possibility for the skin and skylights to react to the different amounts of sunlight they would be exposed to.
