The Sunken Archive
The sunken archive is the space in which many of the ideas surrounding the STOCKhouse will be embedded.
The following images depict the sunken archive which will be a space that will allow for the storage, display, and communal appreciation of different family related objects.
Although physical objects will be showcased, the sharing of knowledge and experience through oral tradition will also be encouraged through the intimate settings provided by materiality and scale.
As seen in the introductory image, the sunken archive will also provide for a broad view of the roofscape framed by the ramp system and opening in the parlor floor.
The kitchen area as a gathering space will also facilitate activities similar to the archive and is thus treated with a similar materiality.
