Stamped Plain Weave
This is a 3 dimensional representation of a plain weave, created in Digital Project. The way in which it was designed, takes on more of a stamped metal approach. In which the members bends and turns are pre-determined. I added colors so that the cross members would be easier to read.
This is the plan view of the weave shown above.
The image above is a closer look at the weave members. On the left are the four members that make up most of the weave in 3 dimension. On the right I have the profiles that I sketched up in Digital Project in order to populate the 3d model.
The image above is a close look at the profile that was drawn. You can see the other profile beyond, which shows it is an inverse of the first.
This image shows a 2 dimensional representation of the plain weave, created in Autocad. The profiles that would be used to cxtrude the memebers in order to make this 3 dimensional are along the left and bottom.
This is an attempt at creating a different pattern by setting a set of rules that begin to change the amount of horizontal members that the vertical members overlap.
This is another attempt at a different 2 dimensional pattern. This one is symetrical along the X and Y axis.
