Exterior Perspective

Final Rhino model form has been rationalized into a more constructable system of parts. Varying thickness has been added to begin to negotiate structural roles within the system of the model. Forms have also been structured into ribbing geometries, to serve as the spine for a future skin system.

Perspective Section revealing central circulation.

Longitudinal section taken just beyond the main “central connection” structure system reveals the basis of vertical circulation throughout the building. Using the Exterior Educational Area as a main courtyard, circulation to second level classrooms runs along a main lofted terrace, which conforms to the sloping nature of the building.

Script Skin studies.

Rhino-script is applied to the Preliminary Rhino Model form’s module. Working with the geometries and surfaces that make up the module, a geometry is created that consists of a eight sided polygon. This process creates interesting opportunities for a skin system. Through an offset and a loft; surface is created, with the ability of the aperture to be gradated through the system, based on programmatic needs.

Final 1/8″ model structural framing components are developed to integrate with gradated skin systems.

Result of repetition of behavior strip applications. Through oscillation and reversal of orientation to begin to argue a mat-style organization of forms.

Site Analysis

Basic weather related phenomena and their relationships are explained in this 4D Rhino model. Relational behaviors are extracted and abstracted to lead to the basic form application to a laser-cut paper strip.
