Knowledge Hub
The Bowery Library that is proposed is one that would simultaneously interact with the community on a personal level and also a more community driven center of information exchange.
For the inhabitants in the surrounding area, the library proposes a history-based reactive archive. On site research and reading is promoted as several factors work together to strive at a library that through use will have the community as a whole share curator-ship. Through the browser system of the library occupants can access media that is displayed based on the “PageRank” analysis algorithm. As topics accumulate “votes” they are given more importance and votes they cast become more important in turn. Votes are based on links between topics, so that a topic’s “Community of Knowledge,” and its “Atmosphere;” both link topics through a network of correspondence.
These areas of the library will be designated as public spaces.
Private spaces will be available to offices and organizations that would use the space as a temporary workspace. These workspaces would be geared towards projects that may be up and coming in the neighborhood, for on-site availability. The private spaces could adjust and reorganize to best fit the specific needs of the occupants in every stage of their project from research to presentation. 
The goal is to introduce practicing architects or artists to the area in which they have a project in, while introducing the community to the artists and architects that will ultimately shift the neighborhood in which they live. The library could be seen as a hub for traveling thinkers and creators, while still gearing itself immediately towards the community in which it resides in.
