Aquatic Center Roof Structure at McCarren park

Sections

The skin structure is formed by arched bracing and plates that dance above and below the datum of the large arches. It follows down to the ground where areas of extended programmatic lines taken from the original bivalve shell have been pulled up to create layering where the programs are housed. This is used to help take the load of the skin structure above.
