[C] Space-ADRLTen Pavilion:Update

[C]space is the winning competition entry in the ‘AADRLTen’ Pavilion project, an advanced technology concrete structure that will be erected in Bedford Square,London. The AADRL10 exhibition will open on the 22 February 2008 and the Pavilion will officialy open on 13 March 2008 along with the release of the DRL10 Book. The structure is being designed and developed by Alan Dempsey and Alvin Huang with Adams Kara Taylor and members of the DRL.

ALAN DEMPSEY

Alan Dempsey studied at the AA, Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá, and Dublin Institute of Technology. He has worked with Homa Farjadi, OCEAN and Future Systems . He was an undergraduate unit master at the AA until 2005 and has been an invited critic at many universities in the UK and Europe. His work has been widely published in the US, Europe and Asia and he is currently a co-director of the FAB research cluster at the Architectural Association, which facilitates research projects on novel design and fabrication technologies.

ALVIN HUANG

Alvin Huang received a Masters of Architecture and Urbanism from the AA DRL (2004) and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Southern California (1998). He has worked with DMJM Design, Zaha Hadid Architects, and Future Systems. His work has been widely published in the US, Europe and Asia. He has been an invited critic and guest lecturer at various universities in the UK, United States and China, and was a tutor in Platform 2: The Next Platform in the School of Interior & Spatial Design at Chelsea College of Art & Design.
