The space showcases the largest assortment of Umbra and U+ Studio Collection products. To enhance your shopping experience, the store displays unique, limited edition artwork and a functioning design space where you can interact with designers at work. Recently named Project of the Year at the September 2007 Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO) awards, the store is hard to miss from the outside and extraordinarily dynamic on the inside. JOSHUA DAVIS is a New York based artist and designer who pioneered an original methodology of computational, generative art known as Dynamic Abstraction. Davis processes hand-produced illustrations through computer algorithms to create his compositions. Through this randomized chaos, Davis continually seeks to find what he calls the beautiful accident: a coherent, human synthesis of the organic
and technologic.
He has exhibited at both innovative, new-media galleries such as Maxalot and Espies and at major institutions like the Tate Modern, MoMA PS1, and the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt.
