A moon of Saturn resting on a Doric foundation

It is the combination of the golden proportions, geology and inverted architecture that makes this project so enticing. There is also some strange reference to Arthur C Clark+Stanley Kubrick, 2001: A Space Odyssey that we can’t help but love.

“A moon of Saturn resting on a doric foundation” by Robert Andrade and Daniel G. Baird. The ancient Greek masterpiece, the Parthenon, has been turned upside down to rest on its peak. Covering the new and exposed foundation is a computer interpreted dataset from a landscape representing Saturn’s moon Titan.

The moon of Titan is believed to be in an early stage of development that mimics what earth went through millions of years ago before life emerged.
