Today we have seen the loss of fashion designer Alexander McQueen. A truly exceptional creative individual that will be greatly missed. This happens to be one of our favorite McQueen shows from the Spring/Summer 1999 where he took a white dress and then splattered it w/ paint from 2 robot arms . McQueen was not only epic as a designer of fashion but also understood the theatrics of the conceptual side of the profession.

The Pratt Institute Libraries are pleased to announce the launch of our Flickr digital image collections, comprised of over 1,600 images from our Archives and Special Collections. Digitized in 2005 and 2006 through the assistance of grants from the Metropolitan New York Library Council, these images have been added to Flickr for increased visibility and research access, and have already garnered over 25,000 views during the collection-building phase in March and April 2009. read more
