For the past few years, we have been looking into doing some work in Detroit. The city has thousands of abandoned buildings that have not been lived in for years. The city needs a new group of creative designers to come up with inventive ways to redevelop and recharge this piece of ROCK.

Organ printing seemed like a crazy sci-fi pipe dream when researchers first started tinkering with it a couple years back. But it’s set to make the leap into real-world use in just a few years. As Information Week reports, Organovo, a company based in San Diego, is working on one of the world’s first commercial 3-D organ printers. Organovo expects the first production models to ship this year to biomedical researchers. Up until now, Organovo has been angel funded, but soon, they’ll be raising VC funds for an expansion.

Packing Tape…that is all that is needed to make this incredible structure designed by Numen/For Use. I have seen a dozens of these formal attempts made out of cardboard, plastic…etc….none of them are nearly as good as this packing-tape example. enjoy>
