We are pleased at core.form-ula to profile Dr.Haresh Lalvani of Pratt Institute. Dr.Lalvani has spent the last 30+ years building an incredibly rich body of work that has pushed design to new limits. There is some great work coming out of the Institute for Lightweight Structures and Conceptual Design (ILEK) over at the University of Stuttgart. This is just one of the examples under the direction of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Werner Sobek where they have created an exhibition stand out of and irregular honeycomb structure that will exhibit objects by five young designers presented by Magazin and Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin. The screens are made up of 3mm and 10mm MDF, that has been CNC-cut into 2,142 pieces joined by 1,376 unique pairs of connecting components that are slotted together without adhesive.
